We work with The Hong Kong Research Institute of Textiles and Apparel providing the Garment-to-Garment Recycle System, a mini-scale garment-to-garment production line that recycles post-consumer garments so that they become clean and useful. It involves integral and closed-loop textile recycling processes: from sanitising a garment, removing hard trims, cutting fabric into smaller pieces, opening and mixing fibre, carding, spinning, through to garment knitting. The system is viable as a pop-up retail concept and presents an exciting new approach to inspiring a positive approach to garment recycling among consumers and industry players alike.

 G2G Recycle Process

 G2G Recycle Service

Step 1

Fill in the online booking form. A reply email stating out how to proceed the recycling service will be sent to you.

Step 2

Bring one used garment (sweater or T-shirt preferable) with the booking confirmation email to the G2G store before the date specified in the email.

Step 3

Our researcher will evaluate the condition of the used garment and confirm if it is recyclable. Garments with rubber print and special coating finished on the garment surface are not suitable for recycling.

Step 4

Decision making. If the garment is confirmed recyclable, you can get a brand-new knitwear with a fee by our recycling service. We also welcome donation of the used garment for our research study.

Step 5

The shop keeper will issue a receipt to you and will contact you to collect the recycled garment later.

Thanks for your contribution in closing the loop in the fashion industry.
